I enjoyed knitting this one quite a bit. I haven't knit a triangle shawl before and had some trouble conceptualizing what I was doing. Thankfully the pattern, the designer, and the Loom-Along at Ravelry were very helpful. Sweet on Ruffles by Renee Van Hoy
So far it has been marvelous. Sis and I went outlet shopping and I found shoes but no blouses. The next day we tried the mall and ended up at Sears. Blouse success! Comfortable polos in a range of colors! We saw a movie and later watched another with Brother and SIH.
On Monday S-i-H took me to the Santa Barbara Botanical Gardens. It was a lovely day. We all watched Bones in the evening, hurrah!
Tuesday was a quiet day of knitting while everyone else was at work.
Today I'm back at home enjoying my flowers (and watching the apricots grow) and more knitting time.
It's been all about flowers and knitting for a while. I don't think I shared about a series that I read recently and thoroughly enjoyed. Chronicles of the Kings is a series of 5 books by Lynn Austin. Gods and Kings is the first in the series. The author tells the story of 3 Kings of the Old Testament, Ahaz, Hezekiah, and Manasseh, their contemporaries-including the prophet Isaiah, and their struggles with godliness or the abandonment of godliness. Austin's stories stay close the Biblical facts but elaborate on the times, possible motivations, and how the outcomes of each reign might have come about. The books are engaging. I found many unexpected lessons while reading of each character's struggles and victories. The best part is going into Scripture to reread the passages that these novels are based on with new appreciation.
