Christ is Risen! He is Risen, Indeed, Hallelujah!

Blessed Easter!

Good Shepherd Lutheran, Goleta, CA

Los Angeles Zoo, Friday May 22
Meercat

The bird that jumped up and startled my niece and nephew while we were in the aviary.  It's a Western Gray Plantain Eater.

 Tortoises!  These are Aldabra Tortoises.

The asian elephant exhibit is opening this year.  These beautiful sculptures are all over the zoo.  This was my favorite, I think.

Adolescent giraffe playing with the pulley cord where branches are hung high for food.

The adult male reaching as high as he could for eucalyptus leaves.  He was quite near the railing.  It was delightful to see him up so close.

Koala sleeping in a tree.

Flamingos!

The dark colored are American Flamingos.  The lighter in color are Chilean Flamingos.

Another photo dump since I'm surfing on Panera's dime

Lots of roses, amaryllis, and iris coming up in the yard.  I have a few more hats to add to my Hats for Hunger knitting.  hatsforhunger.com

Fixed the photos I didn't like! 4/24

A fun blog to follow and a yarn give-away

Sheepgal is a Massachusetts shepherdess who sells her own dyed yarn.  It's beautiful to see and lovely to work with.

See her new lambs and enter a give-away here:  Sheepgal

Still posting from Panera's so I'll keep it short unless my audiobook downloads faster.

Not that I mind putting off the warm, ok hot, weather a bit longer but this.....

This has been an odd spring.  We had a winter storm these last couple days with snow levels in the mountains down to 2500 feet.  Brrrr.  I actually turned my heater back on this morning.   Temps are to be normal by Monday-mid 70s to low 80s.

This is from work:

This week's sitting and knitting and not much else hat.

I changed out the picture.  I think this one shows the colors better.
