More knitting

because I haven't been reading much and no one wants to hear about work!

My Ravellenic Games projects continued.   I had time to finish a little cowl I started in December and I attempted to over dye the cream color scarf with the different dye lots.

Here's the cowl:

The cream colored scarf from my last post went from yarn to scarf to dye job and back to yarn over the 17 days of the games.

The dye job (pretty funny)

I'm looking for a pattern for a striped scarf, maybe I'll make my own!  I'm thinking of adding a cream colored yarn to break up all the purple!

Lots of knitting

Last weekend and this have both been 3 day weekends and I've used that time for knitting.  We're in the middle of the Ravelry Ravellenic Games which run concurrently with the Olympics.   I'm knitting along and have finished two projects.

First was my scarf from Renee Van Horn's Poppy Neckerchief pattern.

I couldn't see the variation in the yarn color while I was knitting.  This is yarn that had been given to me and I didn't realize it was from different dye lots.  It's quite noticeable in this photo.   I've decided to try dyeing it and am reading up on techniques, most from the blog Dye Your Yarn by a family I know from Ravelry.

Second was a scarf I started in January and had worked just a few rows each evening.   I used my Sweetheart Pin Loom from Hazel Rose Looms to make the embellishment hearts.

Now it's time to turn my attention back to the pillow cover I'm making for Sis.   I have a mistake about 2 inches back that I need to fix, sigh.   Hopefully it will be smooth sailing after that.

Dad

I'll be adding more but for now wanted to share the beautiful plant sent in condolence from my colleagues:

Appropriately, there is a cute little bird decorating
the plant.  Dad loved sitting and watching
the birds out the windowof his dining room.
