Almost everyone who works with young children knows the little song:
Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, Knees and Toes,
Head Shoulders, Knees and Toes, Knees and Toes,
Eyes and Ears, and Mouth, and Nose,
Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, Knees and Toes.
Kids love it but outgrow it quickly. This year in my class it has sprouted verses.
Verse 1 as above
Verse 2:
Front, Back, Arms and Legs, Arms and Legs,
Front, Back, Arms and Legs, Arms and Legs,
Hair, and Forehead, and Cheeks, and Chin,
Front, Back, Arms and Legs, Arms and Legs
Verse 3:
Neck, Waist, Hips, and Ankles, Hips, and Ankles,
Neck, Waist, Hips and Ankles, Hips and Ankles,
Elbows, and Wrists, and Fingernails, and Toenails,
Neck, Waist, Hips and Ankles, Hips and Ankles.
Verse 4, my favorite, as there is much giggling:
Stand up, Sit down, Out (arms out wide) and In (arms tucked in), Out and In,
Stand up, Sit down, Out and In, Out and In,
Turn yourself around and then you sit back down,
Stand up, Sit down, Out and In, Out and In.
Can't wait to discover verse 5. I had to write them all down because verse 3 is the newest and I'm pretty sure I've changed the 3rd line every time we sing it. Verse 4 always needs to be last! It just does.
Just in case you don't know this for some reason here's a youtube video that I did not make:
